/Film has the exclusive tip that Where The Wild Things Are and Being John Malkovich director Spike Jonze is currently casting a “casting a secret film project in Austin Texas.” It is a collaboration with Arcade Fire, the popular indie rock band, even though their publicist denies such involvement. Jonze worked with Arcade Fire on a new version of Wake Up, the hit from their 2004 album Funeral, on the Where The Wild Things Are trailer.

The only thing known about the story is it involves “friends growing apart.” Spike Jonze has been on a shorts kick lately. You can check out his latest I’m Here which features Andrew Garfield and robot love. Arcade Fire are working on their 3rd album, to be release later this year and they were just confirmed as a headliner for Lollapalooza. We also reported they were planning a film with Jonathan Demme, before the Haiti quake struck and put the project in limbo. They are one of my favorite bands and I eagerly await anything they do, especially something with Jonze.

Are you looking forward to a Jonze/Arcade Fire collaboration?
