There must be some chemistry between Sam Rockwell and Jon Favreau. The criminally award robbed actor from Moon is dazzling many in Favreau’s latest Iron Man sequel as Justin Hammer (he’s apparently the show stealer, even over Robert Downey Jr.) and will now re-team with Happy Hogan for Cowboys & Aliens. Rockwell joins Daniel Craig as they will hunt aliens together with Olivia Wilde and Harrison Ford. Rockwell will play a character named Dan, a bartender turned alien hunter. All this comes thanks to the people at HeatVision.
Truthfully, I’m more interested in this project than I was both Iron Man pictures. Apparently Favreau’s stepped up his action timing from the first film to the sequel, which without reading this source material, would seem pretty relevant for a movie about cowboys and aliens fighting each other. If somehow, Favreau can mesh together his quirky character moments with some stellar action for this project, he might have something truly worthwhile on his hands.
