After taking on a buddy comedy of sorts with Ted (which grossed over half-a-billion dollars worldwide), Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is headed in a different direction with his next feature, A Million Ways to Die in the West. We’ve now got the first red band trailer for the film, which features MacFarlane directing, producing, co-writing and taking the lead role.
He stars as a sheep farmer who loses his girlfriend after he backs out of a gunfight, but soon falls in love with another woman. He then must battle her outlaw husband when he comes to town seeking revenge. While that all sounds fairly serious, this first trailer clearly goes for the humor one might expect. I don’t expect another Blazing Saddles, but hopefully it’s a step up from his last film. Check it out below for the film starring Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris. One can also see a batch of character posters here.
