Kendrick Lamar to Produce and Curate Black Panther: The Album; Listen to the First Single

Written by on January 4, 2018

Feeling more like an event that previous Marvel releases, Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther arrives in just over a month and we recently got a tease that Kendrick Lamar would be involved. After dropping the hint in his video for “LOVE.” (from the excellent DAMN.), it’s now been revealed that Lamar will co-produce with Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith and curate Black Panther: The Album, getting a release on February 9th, a week before the film drops.

“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director,” Lamar says. “The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.” As we await the tracklist and album, listen to the first single, Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All The Stars,” below, as well as “LOVE.,” where the album had a blink-and-you-missed-it tease.
