IESB is reporting now a rumor that Chris Pine, the new James T. Kirk in in the upcoming Star Trek is up for the role of Hal Jordan, aka The Green Lantern. Warner Brothers is currently getting ready to start shooting in September, and they already have a set release date for December 17th, 2010. Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) is attached to direct.
This would be an interesting choice. Currently at the moment this is just a rumor its not official, so this is just my thoughts on the possibility if he was casted. First off, we don’t really know what Pine can really do acting wise until we see Star Trek. Yes, he has been in many films already, but Star Trek is his first major movie and the one that will truly show his abilities. He obviously has the look and build of a superhero, but does he have that acting chops for this? Will have to wait and see until we see Star Trek.
