Ripped out of its awards-qualifying release date of Christmas Day, Paramount will now release Hot Tub Time Machine 2 earlier next year. While the new slot is perhaps more fitting for the material, after comedy sequel duds like Dumber and Dumber To and Horrible Bosses 2 this fall, this is easily looking like the most promising of the bunch.

With director Steve Pink returning, the cast of Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke, and Chevy Chase are back, but not John Cusack. Joining the fun is Adam Scott and Gillian Jacobs, as the gang heads to the future to save Corddry’s life (or at least genitals) in the present, as well as fix their own. Check out the new trailer and poster below.

When Lou (Rob Corddry) finds himself in trouble, Nick (Craig Robinson) and Jacob (Clark Duke) fire up the hot tub time machine in an attempt to get back to the past. But they inadvertently land in the future with Adam Jr. (Adam Scott). Now they have to alter the future in order to save the past… which is really the present, in the sequel from the same team that brought you the original cult hit.
