After premiering in Denmark last Christmas, Lars von Trier‘s two-part, erotic epic will be making its way around the world in the coming months. Nymphomaniac recently stopped by Sundance for a secret screening and will be spending time in Berlin before a U.S. theatrical and VOD debut in March and April, but it’s not going down so easy in every country. According to CineEuropa, the first country to slap Volume II of the film with an XXX rating is Romania, which might cause its local distributors to have to postpone or cancel the release altogether.

We also have a new trailer focusing on that specific latter half of the film, which comes from Portugal. According to U.S. distributor, Volume II “picks up with the story of Joe’s adulthood, where her journey of self-discovery leads to darker complications” with Jamie Bell, Willem Dafoe, Mia Goth and Jean-Marc Barr coming into the picture, and Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Stacy Martin and Shia LaBeouf continuing their arcs. Seen below, it actually includes a fair amount of new footage and is perhaps the most tame of the trailers yet.

Nymphomaniac: Volume I lands on VOD on March 6th, 2014 ahead of a March 21st, 2014 theatrical release, while Nymphomaniac: Volume II hits VOD on April 3rd, 2014 and a theatrical release on April 18th, 2014.

What do you think of the new trailer and Romania’s rating?
