After breaking out with a fantastic, pivotal role in the drama Rabbit Hole, actor Miles Teller hasn’t quite lived up to his initial promise after turns in both Footloose and Project X. Aside from the upcoming Spectacular Now, he seems to be staying in the same teen comedy arena for films like 21 and Over, Get a Job and Two Night Stand — and now he’s booked another project.
Variety reports the actor will be seen alongside Zac Efron for the independent drama Are We Officially Dating?. Written and directed by Tom Gormican, whose script for the film ended up on the 2010 Black List, Teller joins as one of Efron’s co-workers and good friends, who has the same mindset when it comes to relationships.
Efron stars as a young adult who is scared of commitment, so he bails on every relationship once it gets past the sex. The film follows him and his group of friends, including a doctor whose wife is cheating on him with their lawyer and another friend who is sleeping with one of his good friends, who happens to be a girl. Things get complicated when Efron’s character may be falling love with a girl he took home.
Production kicks off in November.
