For the past few days a rumor has been brewing that Rachel McAdams had been cast as Black Cat in Spiderman 4. While this one an obvious rumor and nothing more, plenty of people still bought into it. Here’s what McAdams said in response courtesy of EW.
“That’s a total rumor, I have to say,” the actress, who will next be seen in the Dec. 25 action-adventure tentpole Sherlock Holmes, tells EW. “I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spiderman 4. And I said, ‘Really? No one told me!’ It’s not true.” A rep for Sony Pictures concurs: “It’s an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days.”
I would love to see this rumor be proven right since I am oh such a sucked for Rachel McAdams, proof: I actually enjoyed The Time Traveler’s Wife. While this purely stank of another run-of-the-mill superhero casting rumor, we can only hope that there’s some truth to it and that McAdams is just pretending to not be involved.
