There are few movies coming out in 2011 that have gotten me as excited as Jason Eisener‘s upcoming Hobo With a Shotgun; everything that has been released to promote it (the red band trailer, the poster) have just gotten me more and more giddy to finally see the final product. And it looks like I’m not the only one; a mere month away from its world premiere at Sundance, the movie has been acquired by Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures. [The Hollywood Reporter]
Magnet has been responsible for movies like Let The Right One In and Monsters getting distribution, and Hobo With a Shotgun joins recently acquired The Troll Hunter (another movie I’m ridiculously excited for) for their upcoming 2011 releases (The Troll Hunter will also be screening at Sundance, so now I’m even more jealous of my colleagues who get to go).
There’s not much else to say, other than I hope Magnet releases Hobo with a Shotgun as quickly as humanly possible or I may explode from excitement before I ever get to see it.
With Magnet’s impressive track record (they also distributed Bronson, Tom Hardy’s best role to date), does that give you faith that Hobo with a Shotgun will end up as good as the trailer and poster have made it out to be?
