Shyamalan can finally have his name on something that looks promising this year. Well, The Last Airbender did look promising, but then it ended up to be the worst film I’ve seen in the last five years.
With the upcoming horror/thriller Devil he is just producing. John Erick and Drew Dowdle (Quarantine, The Poughkeepsie Tapes) are taking directing duties for the film that stars Chris Messina, Geoffrey Arend, Logan Marshall-Green, Bojana Novakovic, Jenny O’Hara, Bokeem Woodbine, Jacob Vargas. 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy writer Brian Nelson is the scribe here. The Dowdle brothers have certainly proved to be worthy horror directors after their successfully (but nearly shot-by-shot) remake of [REC], Quarantine. This looks to be a pretty interesting premise and I love these one-room films. I can’t wait to see it.
Devil hits theaters Sept. 17th.
