Ahead of the 74th Golden Globe Awards ceremony in less than a month, the nominations have now arrived. Leading the pack with seven nominations this year  is Damien Chazelle‘s La La Land, which also had the highest opening per-theater-average of the year this past weekend, picking up an estimated $855,000 in five theaters for $171,000 per theaters.

Close behind was Barry JenkinsMoonlight, which picked up six nominations. In terms of surprises, Martin Scorsese‘s Silence was completely shut out, while Jonah Hill earned a nomination for War Dogs and Aaron Taylor-Johnson — not Michael Shannon — was recognized for Nocturnal Animals.
