It’s been a long while since director John McTiernan‘s made a movie (2003’s Basic), and that much longer since he’s made a watchable one (1999’s The Thomas Crown Affair). He has his reasons, the most notable being his wiretapping charges, which he plead guilty to earlier this year.
Now it seems he wants to return to what he once did best: directing. McTiernan is set to take on Shrapnel, an action thriller (would you have it any other way?) concerning “two war veterans who hunt each other in a deadly game of cat and mouse.” [Screen Rant]
Can those two vets be Arnold and Bruce Willis? To hope perchance to dream. Let’s also hope McTiernan doesn’t end up going to jail for his guilty plea.
If anyone is wiretapping the man feel free to keep us updated the progess. Thanks.
Would you like to see McTiernan back in the saddle?
