If you wanted Drive Angry to be a little harder (whatever that means), then an upcoming action comedy might be what you’re looking for. Drive Hard teams John Cusack and Thomas Jane with the accomplished latter stringing along the befuddled former for a heist.

While the production quality looks fairly low-rent, the trailer does have its moments, as we rarely seen action film like this have a more relaxed, fun tone. Still, with virtually no buzz, we can’t say we’re quite looking forward to this one, which comes from director Brian Trenchard-Smith, who has been working in the industry for nearly four decades but has barely, if any, quality films. Check out the trailer below.

American thief, Simon Keller (Cusack), arrives in a foreign country in need of a getaway driver. Rather than recruit one from the underworld, he takes a driving lesson from ex F-1 champion, Peter Roberts (Jane), now working as a driving instructor. After Keller robs a bank during the lesson, Roberts has no choice, but to use his driving talent to get away from pursuing police and mobsters.

Drive Hard will arrive sometime this year.
