Politics! Tragedy! Channing Tatum! After Paramount pushed their only summer tentpole to next spring, we’ve now get a new, timely look at the rejiggered G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Although one title card in the trailer says “this year,” Jon Chu‘s film is instead landing in March of next year and this new look packs a decent amount of new action.

Aside from the added 3D, reshoots occurred which where rumored to boost the screen presence of one of 2012’s biggest stars, Channing Tatum — and we can see this evidence in an early dialogue exchange with Dwayne Johnson. Still using the cliffhanging set piece as the climax, but this time with a few additional shots provided, check it out below for the film also starring D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce and Ray Stevenson.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation arrives on March 29th, 2013.
