While it’s been awhile since we’ve heard anything new regarding the Aaron Sorkin-scripted Steve Jobs biopic, another film got the jump, shooting last year and holding its premiere this past January as the closing night film of the Sundance Film Festival. Set for an August release, we’ve now got the first trailer for the biopic Jobs, which sees Ashton Kutcher portraying the technology icon and Apple co-founder.
Directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote), the film’s reception at Park City was fairly mixed. Our friend Germain Lussier over at /Film said, “On one hand here’s the story they’ve been dying to see, on screen, and it looks great. But the film feels slight because it tries to do too much. The effort is there and the film is entertaining, but it’s feels like the PC version of the story instead of the Apple.” We’ll find out soon if the project can strike a chord with audiences and one can check out the trailer and poster below for the film also starring Dermot Mulroney, Josh Gad, Matthew Modine, J.K. Simmons, Ahna O’Reilly, Lukas Haas, James Woods, Lesley Ann Warren and Kevin Dunn.
