One of my favorite films of the last decade is getting the remake treatment and I’m actually not very upset. Matt Reeves, who also directed one of my favorite films with Cloverfield, is taking on this vampire tale. Deadline has posted the first trailer (via First Showing) for the film that stars Chloe Moretz (Kick-Ass) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (The Road). Check it out below.

Plot: A bullied young boy (Smit-McPhee) befriends a young vampire girl (Moretz) who lives with her guardian.

The tome is definitely more upbeat but I’m loving some of the art direction and cinematography. Moretz and Smit-McPhee also look to fit the role. You can tell some of the exact scenes from the original in the trailer and they all look to be carried over pretty well. Count me excited.

Let Me In hits theaters Oct. 1st via Overture Films.

Will Let Me In be a worthy remake?
