Eva Green is a witch, or negotiating to play one. Angelique in Tim Burton‘s Dark Shadows adaptation, the 1960s supernatural soap opera that aired on ABC from 1966 to 1971, to be exact [Deadline]. This news comes hot on the heels of word that both Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcoate are in talks to join Burton’s gothic fantasy, which stars Johnny Depp as Barnabus Collins, a character introduced to the show after about a year of episodes. That said, he would become the lead not long after.

Green recently backed up her hype in the Sundance film Perfect Sense, which showcased the romantic side of the actresses repertoire. This should be a bit different for Green, who seems selective in choosing her roles. She’s not in much but memorial in most everything she’s a part of. This shouldn’t be any different.

The film’s to begin production in April 2011, with a planned 2012 release.
