Production Weekly is reporting that star Emily Blunt (The Devil Wears Prada, The Young Victoria) is in talks to join the latest film from Brick and The Brothers Bloom director Rian Johnson. No other details are given, but Looper starts production this January.

Blunt will join Bruce Willis (The Expendables, Die Hard) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer, Inception) in a story about “hitmen whose victims are sent back in time from the future to be executed. The Loopers bump them off in the present, so there is no trace of a crime in the future.”

Willis recently said Looper was “really dark” and compared it to 12 Monkeys.
