In a cheap effort to bring in the $1 billion-plus Dark Knight audience, Christopher Nolan has revealed the official title of his next Batman film to Hero Complex:
The Dark Knight Rises
It seems a bit clunky with the trilogy of Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and now The Dark Knight Rises not quite seeming like three films that stand on their own. Regardless, it is a bit silly to grumble over a title of a film that hasn’t shot a single frame yet.
Nolan will also be focusing on “high-definition approaches and IMAX cameras” instead of the stereoscopic 3-D craze. Amen! He also said the Riddler will have no involvement in the film. Double amen. In a blank statement, he also says to expect the same players: “we’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones.”
So far we know that Tom Hardy will be one of those “new ones” in a major role. Nolan is also on a search for a female role, Movie Hole reports. Many have rumored Catwoman, but the hunt is for an unknown actress in her “late 20s and early 30s.” With production gearing up for this spring, I’m sure we will find out soon.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 2012.
Do you like the title? Who should be the villain?
