One of the tightest, most well-directed recent thrillers was J Blakeson‘s Gemma Arterton-led The Disappearance of Alice Creed, but three long years later and he has yet to follow it up. However, he has stayed busy on the development side as the indie film helped the young director launch into Hollywood’s mind, being attached to a Jonathan Nolan-scripted film and, as well as one with Leonardo DiCaprio circling the lead. The top -of-the-line talent now continues for his next possibly project.
Variety reports that Bradley Cooper has begun talks to join a new feature from Blakeson titled Bad Blood and Trouble, a crime drama set in the 1950s, where the Limitless star would “play a Miami detective in love with a married woman whose husband has been targeted by a group of criminals.”
After shooting The Hangover Part III this fall, Cooper’s schedule would be free to take part in this project. The star has lined up two of our most-anticipated films of the year, with David O. Russell‘s Silver Linings Playbook and most certainly Derek Cianfrance‘s generation-spanning The Place Beyond the Pines with Ryan Gosling. Following his last outing with the wolfpack, he joins another O. Russell film, so with production on Blakeson’s Bad Blood looking to begin a year from now he’ll have time to fit everything in his schedule if talks go through.
