Tarzan

The Legend of Tarzan seemingly has all the right ingredients to make for a better-than-average reboot. There’s director David Yates (who helmed the last four Harry Potter films and is currently shooting Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as well as a strong cast of Alexander Skarsgård, Margot Robbie, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Waltz, Djimon Hounsou, and John Hurt.

Now we have a new trailer, which seems to give away much of what’s presumably the last half. We witness a major setpiece as Tarzan sets out to save Jane and attack a legion of humans with his animal army. Yates can certainly pull off spectacle, so we’ll have to wait and see if can do so again here. Set for a prime July 4th week release, check out the trailer below, along with a new poster.

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
