Considering we’ve seen clips from all eight chapters, a variety of international Nymphomaniac teasers, and those eye-catching orgasm-centric posters (all here), it’s hard to imagine how much more U.S. distributors Magnolia Pictures even need to market Lars von Trier‘s erotic epic. But they’re doing great work already, as the first domestic trailer has debuted and in a surprisingly safe for work capacity, they’ve provided one of the best teases of the film.
As one might have heard, early reviews have been across-the-board ecstatic for both parts of this one, while the first volume features Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Stacy Martin, Shia LaBeouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Connie Nielsen and Udo Kier. So, as Valentine’s Day approaches, celebrate all forms of love below with the debut U.S. trailer.
NYMPHOMANIAC: VOLUME I is the story of Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac who is discovered badly beaten in an alley by an older bachelor, Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård), who takes her into his home. As he tends to her wounds, she recounts the erotic story of her adolescence and young-adulthood (portrayed in flashback by newcomer Stacy Martin).
Nymphomaniac: Volume I lands on VOD on March 6th, 2014 ahead of a March 21st, 2014 theatrical release, while Nymphomaniac: Volume II hits VOD on April 3rd, 2014 and a theatrical release on April 18th, 2014.
