Update: Screen Daily confirms that shooting begins on October 27th and Sigrid Bouaziz, Lars Eidinger, Anders Danielsen Lie, and Nora von Waldstätten have joined the cast. IFC Films will distribute it in the U.S. and one can see the original story below.

After Kristen Stewart gave her finest performance in one of the year’s best films thus far, Olivier Assayas‘ Clouds of Sils Maria, the collaborators are smartly getting back into business together for a new film, which we’ll likely see by next year. According to Variety, Stewart will lead the cast of Assayas’ English-language drama Personal Shopper.

Despite the use of English-language it will still be a European production and set in Paris, so we can still not expect Assayas to head to Hollywood anytime soon after his last planned project fell apart in the final stages. His next film is described as a “ghost story taking place in the fashion underworld.” Reteaming with producer Charles Gillibert, he says similar themes will be explored as in Sils Maria, with an added “genre/fantasy dimension.”

With Stewart earning a Cesar award for her work with Assayas, we can see why she’d want to reteam here, and we can’t wait for the results. As we await more details ahead of a shoot kicking off late this year, check out our extensive discussion about their latest film and our chat with Assayas here.
