It’s been nearly a year since we’ve heard a peep regarding Wim Wenders‘ follow-up to Pina, a family drama in which he’ll be employing 3D once again. With Sarah Polley originally attached to the project titled Every Thing Will Be Fine, we’ve now got another addition.
According to a press release, James Franco has been set as the main role of Tomas, in the film exploring the twelve years following an accident in which he strikes and kills a child in his car. Wenders adds that the movie is “a story of guilt and forgiveness, and of accepting things you cannot change anymore. We wrote it with 3D in mind, and I’m convinced that the medium lends itself really well to an intimate story.” Check out a longer synopsis below as we greatly anticipate Wenders’ next project and how exactly he’ll utilize 3D.
One day, driving aimlessly around the outskirts of town after a trivial domestic quarrel, Tomas accidentally hits and kills a child. The accident marks him for the next twelve years, as we follow the event’s implosion in Tomas’ everyday life. Will Tomas be able to move on? Will he ever be able to look in the mirror and see a man, not a murderer?
Production kicks off in August for a likely 2014 release.
