There are still seven days to go until I can (officially) discuss the greatness of The Hateful Eight, but let me peek my head out for a minute and say that those who see it really, truly should do so in 70mm. This is more than a matter of cinematographic pleasure, no matter how much you’ll find therein; it’s also a pretty key part of the experience, with an overture and intermission showing a very nifty structural gambit on Quentin Tarantino‘s part.
Less than two weeks before the roll-out begins, The Weinstein Company have set up a site that will allow you to purchase tickets in one of the 44 markets (in total hosting 100 venues) where this optimal experience, known as the “roadshow,” is coming. Choose the right one, and, per Variety, you’ll be greeted by Tarantino and cast, who are appearing at select showings.
