As Keane puts it in the trailer, “Oh simple thing where have you gone? I’m getting old and I need something to rely on.” That about sums up my feelings on Disney’s return to the Winnie the Pooh series. I grew up on and this looks like a lovely, nostalgic update with beautiful hand-drawn animation. Stephen J. Anderson (Meet The Robinsons) is directing with voice acting by Jim Cummings, Craig Ferguson, Tom Kenny, and Gilbert Gottfried. The trailer has debuted on the Disney Animation YouTube page and you can check it out below.

Synopsis: Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood in Winnie the Pooh, the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. In this new movie, Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. As always, it turns out to be a busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some hunny. The film is inspired by five of the stories from A.A. Milne’s books in classic Disney hand-drawn art style.

Winnie The Pooh hits theaters July 15th, 2011.
