Currently attached to four billion projects (Disclaimer: statement may include exaggeration), Will Smith has also signed up to produce and star in The Legend of Cain, reports Deadline. Yes THAT Cain, the biblical son of Adam and Eve who committed the first murder by killing his brother Abel.

Written by Caleeb Pinkett and Dan Knauf, with revision from Andrea Berloff, the story will be given a “vampiric twist”, but with no news on how exactly that will play out as yet. I doubt there can be any vampire angle which isn’t covered in one film or another, even the biblical element has been covered before in Dracula 2000, so I’ll not get too excited just yet, especially as Smith’s last dabble with vampires (in everything but name), I Am Legend wasted great source material itself.

Smith will produce along with wife Jada Pinkett Smith, James Lassiter and Ken Stovitz and will play the title role.

What do you make of the idea of this bible/vampire story?
