I’ve watched this trailer twice. The first time I spend the majority of it rolling my eyes. Another indie about a broken family? Really? Then, on second viewing, there does seem to be something to offer.
Firstly, the casting is interesting – Gandolfini and Leo especially, as a couple. Secondly, the setting – New Orleans – and, mostly, the idea that this strange girl (Stewart) Gandolfini’s character finds could be the answer to all of their grief. Sure, it’s been done before.
But maybe not like this?
Welcome to the Rileys opens in limited release on November 5th.
