Paramount had a nice weekend with Shrek Forever After: The Final Chapter coming in at first, making $71.3 million. It may sound like a lot, but it is over $50M less than Shrek The Third‘s $122.5M opening in 2007. This is without the ticket spike of 3D that Shrek 4 brought.

Paramount also had the #2 spot with Jon Favreau‘s Iron Man 2 making $26.6M in its third weekend. This is a bit less than the $31.8M Iron Man 1 made in its third weekend.

Even though MacGruber costs less than $10M it came up with a horrifically disappointing $4.1M this weekend. Another Universal film, Robin Hood made $18.7M bringing its total to $66.7M.
