You may not tune into the news now, but chances are strong Ron Burgundy and his team will you pull you back in this December when Adam McKay‘s highly-anticipated sequel Anchorman: The Legend Continues lands. Hopefully a welcome surprise of levity during the prestige awards season this December, two new full-length trailers have landed for the project, which both pack a great deal of new footage.

Including a fake funeral for Brick Tamland, a brief appearance by Harrison Ford, a major automobile accident and more, the hijinks are necessarily up to the laughs of the first feature, but hopefully, like that 2004 hit, they are saving the best for the final product. The sequel puts Ron Burgundy and crew in the ’80′s, where Will Ferrell‘s character attempts to solve race relations and tackle the Big Apple. Featuring newcomers like James Marsden and Kristen Wiig, as well as the returning team of Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, check out both new trailers below, along with a new poster.

With the 70’s behind him, San Diego’s top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) – All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy…while taking the country’s first 24-hour news channel by storm.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues opens on December 20th.
