After debuting a first trailer, Lucasfilm has unveiled a shorter, action-filled teaser for their WWII aerial combat action drama Red Tails. Directed by Anthony Hemingway and executive produced by George Lucas the large cast includes Terrence Howard, NeYo, Andre Royo, Nate Parker, David Oyelowo, Cuba Gooding Jr., Bryan Cranston, Method Man, Tristan Wilds, Kevin Phillips, Rick Otto, Lee Tergesen, Elijah Kelley, Marcus T. Paulk, Leslie Odom Jr., Michael B. Jordan, Jazmine Sullivan, Edwina Finley, Daniela Ruah and Stacie Davis.

This piece works a bit better as the hokey dialogue is cut down and we get to see more of Industrial Light and Magic’s work. I’m still not sold on the some of the third-person aerial dogfights, but the action from the cockpit POV looks well-done. Check out the trailer and poster below via MTV.

Synopsis:

1944. As the war in Europe continues to take its toll on Allied forces, the Pentagon brass has no recourse but to consider unorthodox options – including the untried and untested African-American pilots of the experimental Tuskegee training program. Just as the young Tuskegee men are on the brink of being shut down and shipped back home, they are given the ultimate chance to show their courage. Against all the odds, with something to prove and everything to lose, these intrepid young airmen take to the skies to fight for their country – and the fate of the free world.

Red Tails hits theaters on January 20th, 2012.

Is this trailer an improvement over the last? What do you think of the first poster?
