Before you click away fearing this is another terrible Adam Sandler comedy, I encourage you to stick by. The man who is deservedly the most-nominated Razzie recipient after turds like Jack & Jill and Grown Ups might actually be appearing in a promising comedy. From Sean Anders and John Morris, the people behind the mostly-hilarious Sex Drive and Hot Tub Time Machine, comes their next film, That’s My Boy. Two of my favorite comedians, Ken Marino and David Wain, worked on David Caspe‘s original script and now we’ve got the first trailer today.

Sandler stars as a down-and-out dad reconnecting with his son (Andy Samberg), who is about to get married. The red band tease below looks to be dealing with the basic levels of vulgarity, but I find promise with the directing duo, as they’ve been able to add another layer to that kind of comedy with their past work. I’ve also heard some good buzz from those that have attended test screenings and one can check it out below via MTV.

Synopsis:

While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd’s 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd’s world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.

That’s My Boy hits theaters June 15th.
