The trailer for Love Ranch, which debuted at Cannes this afternoon, has debuted via Apple. The real life drama, which stars the lovely Helen Mirren and sees the return of Joe Pesci, tells the story of a brothel owning couple who acquire a prize boxer in the 1970’s. Spanish actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta makes his English language debut as the boxer who seduces Mirren.

The film is directed by Mirren’s husband Taylor Hackford of Ray and An Officer and a Gentleman fame. This is the second time the couple has worked together (the first was 1985’s White Nights). Love Ranch also includes an eccentric cast of actresses that make up the working gals of the brothel including Gina Gershon (Bound), Bai Ling (Southland Tales) and Taryn Manning (Hustle and Flow).

The film has great costumes, production design and it is great to see Pesci back in a major role. However, it does give off an ancillary Casino vibe due to the Nevada setting and the presence of Pesci. Mirren, as always, looks stunning and could find herself headed toward another Oscar nomination for her work here.

Love Ranch hits theaters on June 30th.
