Both of The Hangover films thus far have featured various shenanigans in the car, but it looks like Todd Phillips is going overboard into his Road Trip and Due Date side and taking the gang on the road for perhaps the majority of The Hangover Part III.

We got word earlier this summer that the gang would head back to Vegas, as well as Tijuana, in this last installment, but in what capacity was not clear. Now, with production kicking off today, WB have released a short synopsis that provides the smallest of details, which reads, “this time, there’s no wedding. No bachelor party. What could go wrong, right? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.” That last section indicates the gang of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha will not be staying put on this trip, but unfortunately no other details are known.

However the studio does confirm that this is the very final film in the franchise, saying the gang goes for “one last wild ride.” As long as its not another rehash of the first film, as the second was (and that much has been confirmed), we’re down with this one. The casting of returning players Ken Jeong, Heather Graham, Jeffrey Tambor, Gillian Vigman, Sasha Barrese and Jamie Chung are all confirmed as well, along with John Goodman  in a villain role.

The Hangover Part III arrives on May 24th, 2013.
