Do you recognize those sunny lips? You aren’t alone. It seems like he would have tackled this early on in his career, but Zac Efron has finally done a Nicholas Sparks adaptation. The featurette for The Lucky One arrived a few weeks back, but now we have the theatrical trailer. As we previously stated, coming off his overlooked Clive Owen drama The Boys Are Back, director Scott Hicks is getting back to more sure-fire box-office territory with this film.

Co-starring Taylor Schilling and Blythe Danner, it looks to be a nicely shot, predictable story as most of his material. I’m more interested in Efron starring in Ramin Bahrani‘s next film as well as Lee DanielsPrecious follow-up, The Paperboy, but this one should please his usual fans. Check out the trailer below via Apple.

Synopsis:

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive-a photograph he found of a woman he doesn’t even know. Learning her name is Beth (Taylor Schilling) and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

The Lucky One hits theaters April 20th, 2012.
