While The Hangover Part II was unfortunately a simple rehash of the first, albeit occasionally funny, director Todd Phillips has even darker plans for the final entry in the trilogy. We know Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha will all be returning, as they try to rescue Zach Galifianakis from a mental hospital. Now we know exactly where the proceedings will be taking place.

Both the Toronto and Las Vegas Sun report the sequel will find our group back in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, as well as a trip down to Tijuana. If one had to take a guess, do our boys need to rescue Alan down in Mexico? With a release on May 24, 2013 and production gearing up for this month, we’ll find out pretty soon. Oh, and of course Mike Tyson will be back as well.

There’s not much else to go on, but it’s good to know that Phillips will be changing up the structure here. While I appreciate his darker side, the rinse-and-repeat format of the sequel, despite grossing a massive nearly $600 million worldwide, was a big turn-off.

What do you want to see from the last Hangover?
