Pencil it in now. We now have precise confirmation on the furthest film away in Hollywood’s release calendar. With 2013 more or less set, we barely know how 2014 will shake out and yet, Disney and Marvel have went ahead and claimed the May 1st, 2015 slot for their follow-up to the record-grossing The Avengers.

As we know, Joss Whedon will be returning to write and direct, as well as helping Marvel in all their films up until the release of The Avengers 2. And if one stayed a little later after the Avengers credits hit, we also know Thanos will be taking Tom Hiddleston‘s reigns as the villain.

Other than that, we can expect our main cast of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders and Samuel L. Jackson to return…and that’s about it thus far. In the meantime, look for Thor: The Dark World,Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man to hit theaters inbetween over the next few years.

Do you already have plans on May 1st, 2015?
