G.I. Joe: Rise Of The Cobra made over $300 million last year for Paramount so it’s no surprise the studio has asked director Stephen Sommers to return to direct the sequel. [The Wrap]

The good news is that this time around Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have taken care of script duties and “the studio is happy” with their draft. No casting has been confirmed but Channing Tatum is “expected to reprise his role as Capt. Duke Hauser.”

I had some fun with G.I. Joe but every time I recall it, I lose some brain cells. Though judging from the crop of boring blockbusters we got this year, I’d take some stupid fun over that any day of the week.
