While we tend to appreciate J.J. Abrams‘ insistence to keep things close to the chest, for many, this secrecy hit a breaking point this summer with his guarded, unnecessary protection of Benedict Cumberbatch‘s identity in Star Trek Into Darkness. So his latest tease, coming in the form of a minute-long YouTube video, doesn’t do much to excite us. Confirmed by EW as officially coming from Bad Robot, there’s no telling what exactly it’s for, but if you have any guesses, feel free to chime in below.

In other Abrams-related news, we imagined that his next feature, Star Wars: Episode VII, would be landing in summer 2015, but Badass Digest suggest a different timeframe is in mind. According to the site, multiple sources indicate that Disney is changing up the May launch formula for the series and eying a December 2015 release, with the 15th of the month being “the most likely.” With production gearing up for early next year, we imagine the date will get locked up soon, so check back, and in the meantime, see the mysterious teaser below.

What do you think this mysterious teaser could be for? Do you think a late-year release is prime territory for Star Wars?
