With this fall’s Road To Perdition reunion, director Sam Mendes seems to be taking Daniel Craig as James Bond on perhaps his slickest (thanks to Roger Deakins), most secretive outing yet. We’ve got inklings of the plot — said to heavily feature Judi Dench‘s M — but things have been tightly under wraps for the most part. We’ve now got a new expanded synopsis which points us in the direction our secret agent will be headed, giving more of a background on M’s plotline, as well as a new poster from the UK. In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M (JUDI DENCH) is tested as her past returns to haunt her. 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
When Bond’s latest assignment goes gravely wrong and agents around the world are exposed, MI6 is attacked forcing M to relocate the agency. These events cause her authority and position to be challenged by Gareth Mallory (RALPH FIENNES), the new Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee. With MI6 now compromised from both inside and out, M is left with one ally she can trust: Bond. 007 takes to the shadows – aided only by field agent, Eve (NAOMIE HARRIS) – following a trail to the mysterious Silva (JAVIER BARDEM), whose lethal and hidden motives have yet to reveal themselves.
Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Judie Dench, Ben Whishaw, Ola Rapace, Helen McCrory, Tonia Sotiropoulou, and Albert Finney also star in the film, which is set for a stateside release on November 9th, after bowing in the UK on October 26th.
