From Deadline: James Wan, director of the original Saw, will helm an upcoming adaptation of the graphic novel vampire tale, Nightfall.

Written by Scott O. Brown with art by Ferran Xalabarder, Nightfall is concerns a man sent to a prison run by vampires. Enough said, really.

Wan will direct and oversee the scripting process for Nightfall as his latest film, Insidious – a supernatural thriller about a comatose boy who attracts evil entities – will play at the Toronto Film Festival. Platinum Studios (currently deep into shooting Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens) and Aurora Productions will co-produce the film.

With Insidious likely to prove a step away from the gore-o-rama Saw franchise Wan helped found, Nightfall could potentially be a very interesting way for James Wan to straddle both worlds.

Do you think Nightfall has potential? What about Insidious? Which one would you rather see?
