We imagine only the most die-hard of completists watch each new Nicolas Cage feature, let alone can recall which releases he has any give year, so it wouldn’t be surprising if you’re not familiar with his latest, Outcast. Filmed some time ago and now gearing up for a release early next year, the project teams him with Hayden Christensen, who seems to be returning to the screen after a nearly half-a-decade break.
Coming from director Nick Powell (who has done stunt work on everything from The Last Samurai to Hot Rod), it follows the tale of a mysterious warrior teams up with the daughter and son of a deposed Chinese Emperor to defeat their cruel Uncle, who seeks their deaths. As for the first trailer, it looks like fairly generic Cage fare, and can be seen below.
Outcast opens on February 27th, 2015.
