Update: Variety also reports that Catherine Keener, Toni Collette, Ben Falcone and Eve Hewson have been added to the ensemble. Collette plays therapist to Keener, as well as Louis-Dreyfus’ friend, while Hewson is daughter to Keener, who is married to Gandolfini.
Tracey Fairaway and Kathleen Rose Perkins (you may know her from that show Episodes) have jumped on to Nicole Holofcener‘s next project, currently without a title, for Fox Searchlight.
The film stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a masseuse who falls in love with the husband (James Gandolfini) of a friend. Fairaway will play Louis-Dreyfus’ college-bound daughter, while Perkins will take on the role of step mom [Variety].
Holofcener has been an original voice in the world of independent world for a long time now, never seeming to get the credit she deserves as a storyteller. This cast feels both fresh and reliable, much like the brief synopsis we’ve been provided with. The chance to see Louis-Dreyfus lead a picture and be romanced by an against-type Gandolfini is more than enough to get us excited.
The film starts shooting in the next few weeks.
