Amassing nearly forty features before he passed away in 2006, Robert Altman‘s life and illustrious career is the subject of a new documentary, aptly titled Altman. Set to premiere at Venice Film Festival, we’ve got the first teaser for the R0n Mann-helmed project, which follows the ups and downs of the director’s career on both the critical and financial side.

Following the teaser, which includes a brief interview snippet for Altman before highlighting some of his best work, we also have two conversations with the director. The first comes from Elvis Mitchell‘s Independent Focus in the late 90’s. Ahead of the release of Gosford Park, Altman discusses tracking down a Leonard Cohen song, why he was fed up with Hollywood, censorship, and more. Then we have a shorter interview with the director around the promotion of one of his best films, The Player. Check out everything below.
