Although she’s been considered for a number of blockbusters from Captain America: The Winter Soldier to Jack Ryan, Felicity Jones‘ hard work has finally paid off. The Like Crazy actress, who recently reteamed with director Drake Doremus for Breathe In (our Sundance review here), has now been confirmed for two major upcoming roles.
First up, according to Deadline, she will be joining Jonah Hill and James Franco in Rupert Goold’s drama True Story, which adapts journalist Michael Finkel‘s novel, following a tale of mistaken identity and an investigation into falsifying New York Times-published articles. Hill will portray Finkel, who learns that a FBI most-wanted criminal Christian Longo (played by Franco) gets captured and was taking his identity. When Finkel gets fired at the New York Times for reportedly falsifying articles his career seemed over, but Longo only wants to speak to Finkel and so begins a strange relationship. Jones will play the part of Finkel’s faithful girlfriend.
After circling a role, Jones has also been confirmed for her first blockbuster, Marc Webb‘s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which just kicked off production. While her part is unknown, she joins our returning actors, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, as well as a batch of newcomers, including Paul Giamatti, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan and Shailene Woodley. Set for a release in the summer of 2014, check out the first two set photos below.
