As his final entry into the Cornetto trilogy, The World’s End, is being mentioned on a number of year-end lists, director Edgar Wright is here to deliver his own favorites of 2013. While the filmmaker notes he hasn’t seen such films as Her, American Hustle, Blue is the Warmest Color, Dallas Buyers Club and 12 Years a Slave, he’s unveiled his current top ten of the year.
Topped by Alfonso Cuaron‘s space thriller Gravity, the list also includes Steven Soderbergh‘s HBO biopic Behind the Candelabra, as well as Destin Cretton‘s Short Term 12, which is certainly deserving of more attention. There’s also The Spectacular Now, which Wright notes could easily be a prequel to The World’s End, in regards to Simon Pegg‘s character.
