With his highly recommended Frances Ha recently hitting theaters, writer-director Noah Baumbach is prepping his next project, one that will see him reteam with a few of his previous collaborators. We’ve known for some time that Greenberg‘s Ben Stiller and Ha‘s Adam Driver will be joining Naomi Watts in While We’re Young, but now The Wrap has another addition.
According to the trade, Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried has signed for the project, playing a character who was once attached to Greta Gerwig. She’ll make homemade ice cream (yeah…) and as a couple with Driver, who kick off a friendship with the married couple of Stiller and Watts. Shooting in New Orleans, this fall, expect a 2014 release.
In other casting news, The Hollywood Reporter has news on the next project from Fouad Mikati, who gave us the little seen Zach Galifianakis, Adam Scott and Rob Corddry-led comedy Operation: Endgame. Titled Return to Sender, the relatively new director will being switching to psychological thriller territory with Rosamund Pike, Shiloh Fernandez and Nick Nolte.
Coming from a script by Patricia Beauchamp and Joe Gossett, the story follows a “small-town nurse (Pike) who falls victim to a life-altering event after she goes on a blind date with a man (Fernandez) who turns out not to be who he says he is. She must find the strength and courage to rebuild her life and return to her former self.”
Last and certainly least, we’ve got the minor update from director Bryan Singer that he’s yet again expanded his cast for X-Men: Days of Future Past. He’ll be adding Kick-Ass star Evan Peters in the role of Quicksilver, which seems to have some fans in a tizzy, considering the character will also be having a spot in Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers 2. Stay tuned to see if the universe implodes.
He’ll be joining the crowd that includes Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart. One can try to pick him out of the line-up when the film arrives on July 18th, 2014.
