Alright, alright, alright, alright, someone get Matthew McConaughey some meat. We already got a glimpse (also above) from the Magic Mike actor looking gaunt on Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf of Wall Street set, but as he continues his weight loss for his next project, he’s hit a new low. Spotted alongside his mother coming out of an Austin, Texas church the actor has lost 30 pounds on a liquid-only diet.
Co-starring with Gael Garcia Bernal, the drop in weight is for The Dallas Buyer’s Club, a true-life AIDS drama from Jean-Marc Vallee (The Young Victoria). McConaughey is playing Ron Woodroof, a “homophobe redneck cowboy,” in the actor’s own words, whose HIV contraction led to the life of a mule for experimental remedies during the virus’ early days. Shooting kicks off in November and we can only hope McConaughey isn’t on life support by then.
