Marc Forster is a director that seems to go under many people’s radar for some reason, even after he shot to the mainstream and made $586,090,727 worldwide with Quantum of Solace. Although I think that film was a mediocre dissapointment and one of the worst in the Bond series, he has made 3 very different masterpieces in Monster’s Ball, Finding Neverland and Stranger than Fiction. He is in post production on Machine Gun Preacher starring Gerard Butler (which even has some Oscar buzz for that star) and is now currently filming World War Z, a movie with a pretty self explanatory title but here is the official plot summary:

“Ten years after the human victory over the world wide Zombie epidemic, referred to as World War Z, Max Brooks scours the world collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity.”

Ed Harris and Matthew Fox were originally attached to play supporting roles but have recently dropped out due to other commitments but Brad Pitt is still on to star as Gerry Lane, the protagonist of the film. Check out some set photos below via Daily Mail and more at the site.

World War Z is shooting now and is currently set for a release date rumored in 2012. Personally, I am interested to see what Forster does with a relatively generic plot, lets hope for something unique.

Are you interested in seeing another zombie film? What are your thoughts on the set photos?
